The Short Story

The short story of OMS is that we have been planting churches all over the world for a really long time but there are still many many communities which do not have a Christian witness.

We want YOU to be part of the work and GO SERVE God on either a short term trip or as a longer term missionary.

There are heaps of different areas within which you can serve.

Please ask us about short term trips, gap years or long term service.

After World War II thework and ministries of OMS expanded beyond Asia into other countries onfive continents. This necessitated a name-change to simply, OMS International,as we are known today. As a global mission we have more than 400missionaries serving in 20 countries plus associate workers andministries in 23 additional nations. Missionaries serving under theauspices of OMS are from six 'International Sending Countries’ (ISC).

OMS is committed to the principle that ‘the sons and daughters of a nation will best win that nation for Christ.’.. OMS has therefore always sought to fulfil the Great Commission through a distinct four-fold ministry strategy:
 1) direct evangelism
 2) establishing believers into self-governing, self-propagating and self-supporting national churches
 3) discipling and training national workers as God calls them into ministry, and
 4) partnering with national churches and other organizations in
‘reaching the nations for Christ.’

Opportunities For Service:OMS has up to 300 opportunities for service for both short-term andcareer missionaries. We invite you to visit each of our mission fieldsclose up and see the diverse ways of our four-fold strategy of ministryon each field. Ask God to direct your path to possible service withOMS. We encourage you to claim God's promise...
